A Gulf of Mexico beach city just west of St. Petersburg, is best known for John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, which serves up shops and eateries and a 1,100-foot boardwalk. Madeira Beach's 2.5-mile beach attracts devotees of sun and sea. Fishing is the primary sport activity. More grouper is brought into John's Pass than any other place in the state. In October, Madeira Beach hosts the Seafood Festival which attracts as many as 130,000 visitors to its celebration of food, music, and arts and crafts.

Tierra Verde

Tierra Verde is celebrated for its waterfront views, boating community, local restaurants and Fort De Soto Park. Right next door you will find the Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club offering a first class 18 hole golf course, nine clay tennis courts and a 76 slip marina. Recently the Marina Resort was completed and new retail, and restaurants have been constructed and expanded in anticipation of the replacing of the Bayway Drawbridge.

This picturesque county park - part of the boating community of Tierra Verde - covers five islands and 1,136 acres on the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay, and offers activities and amenities to entertain you for a day or more (campsites and abundant hotels nearby enable extended stays). At the heart of the park you will find the historic fort that gives the park its name. Fishing, boating and a seven mile nature trail are other park features.
